The first edition of AlpOSS: the Open Source event that rocked the Alps!

Primary tabs

We are thrilled to share with you the resounding success of the very first edition of AlpOSS, an event that brought together enthusiasts and experts of open source in the capital of the Alps. Co-organized with OW2, the City of Echirolles, and our teams, this day was marked by enriching conferences, stimulating workshops, and a warm atmosphere.

What is AlpOSS?

AlpOSS stems from the collaboration between three distinct actors, united by a common passion for the dynamic ecosystem of Open Source. Our initiative finds its roots in the shared desire to foster a sense of community within the local Isère landscape. AlpOSS is more than just a meeting: it is a place for exchange and exploration of the fundamental values of Open Source.

The day of March 21, 2024

As the doors opened for this inaugural event, enthusiasm was palpable, with a continuous flow of visitors reaching a significant peak in the morning, with over 230 people present simultaneously. This turnout reflects the growing interest in open source and its increasing impact on our society. We welcomed various stakeholders, including organizations, communities, enthusiasts, and those interested in alternative open source solutions.
For those who could not attend or for those who wish to relive these moments, replays of the presentations are now available online.

Belledonne Communications through AlpOSS

During this day rich in exchanges, we wore several hats: co-organizers, exhibitors, and speakers.
Indeed, Jehan Monnier, co-founder of Belledonne Communications, led a conference on enterprise telephony and possible developments in real-time communications. With the rise of smartphones, mobility, and the widespread adoption of telecommuting, organizations must find solutions to address these new challenges. You can discover the French replay here

AlpOSS, what's next?

And as one of our visitors aptly said: "A very nice initiative that advances on the path to democratizing free software and open source. There was a lot of exchange between peers, conviviality, and good spirits!"

Stay tuned for more information on the next edition of AlpOSS. The future looks promising!
